Who we are
Strange Pastures is a small card shop in Cary, North Carolina. Questions about any of this: hello@strangepastures.com.
What we collect and why
- Orders: your name, email, shipping address, what you bought and any note you add. We use them to send your cards, email you order and shipping updates, and keep tax records. Card details go straight to Stripe. We never see or store them.
- Etsy orders: the same details, which Etsy passes to us so we can ship your cards.
- Contact form: your name, email and message, so we can reply.
- Email sign-up: your email, so we can tell you about new cards and the shop opening.
- Technical data: at checkout we record your IP address to stop abuse, such as grabbing all the held stock. Cloudflare sees standard connection data to deliver the site and run the spam check.
Who we share it with
Only the people who help us run the shop:
- Stripe: payments and sales tax.
- EasyPost and USPS: your name and address go on the postage label.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Cloudflare: hosting, storage and the Turnstile spam check.
- Etsy: orders placed on Etsy.
- Google Fonts: the site’s fonts load from Google, which sees your IP address.
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
Cookies and your browser
We set no cookies of our own and use no analytics or ad tracking. Your cart is kept in your own browser (local storage) until you check out or clear it. Cloudflare’s spam check may set a technical cookie that it needs to work.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for at least 3 years, because tax rules ask us to. We keep contact messages and sign-ups until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices

Children
The shop isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
